It is prohibited to drive without a license plate as you are said to be a lawbreaker. When you are seen driving without a license plate by the police, you become their next target. It therefore becomes necessary to have a license plate attached to your car. It is hence useful to know how to install one. The first step is to gather all the tools that you will need. The tools are; a flat-headed screwdriver, the right screws and the validation sticker.
The next step relies on whether are renewing the license plate or if the car is being installed the license plate for the first time. If your car had a license plate before, it means that it had predrilled holes and hence no need to drill other holes. You should remove the previous sticker and clean up the place before attaching the new validation tag. When removing the old sticker, you may require a screwdriver to remove it. The new sticker is put at the top corners of your license plate. In an already drilled car, you just should line up the plate with the existing holes and screw it using a screwdriver. It is essential for you to make the plate not as tight. You should drill holes when installing the plate for the first time in your car. You should make sure that your bumper is made of fiberglass. You measure to find the center of the bumper using a measuring tape and mark the area with a pen. You place the license plate at the center point and mark the points where to drill holes. After marking the points, you drill the holes and follow the procedure of the predrilled holes.
If you do not want to drill holes in your bumper there is also an option for you. All they should do is purchase an adhesive-mounted bracket that fits the model and makes of their car. It is advisable to clean up the area with rubbing alcohol to ensure that the adhesive sticks properly. After the bumper has dried, you try fitting the bracket with its protective film on. After fitting, you remove the protective film at the back of the bracket and place the bracket onto the bumper. Using a screwdriver, you attach the license plate to the bracket using the screws. This method should be used by people whose car’s bumper is made of metal and have never drilled holes again. It is hard to drill in a metal bumper, and that is why it is advisable to use the method.
